Re-sanding & sealing around Crewe
After a clean, the joints in block paving are often half empty. Left like that, the blocks can start to shift and weeds have an easy home. We brush kiln-dried sand back in until the joints are full, then apply a joint-stabilising sealer.
Sealer comes in matt or a light satin finish. It soaks into the sand and binds it, so it won't wash out next time it rains hard, and it makes oil and dirt easier to clean off.

Surface jet washed and left to dry.

Kiln-dried sand brushed in until joints are full.
Seal
Sealer applied by roller or sprayer in even coats.
Cure
Kept clear of cars until it's cured, usually a day.

Will sealing stop weeds completely?
It slows them down a lot, because the sand is bound together. Seeds landing on top can still root in dirt, but they're easy to pull.
Does sealer make paving slippery?
Not the products we use. We'll avoid gloss finishes on slopes and steps.
Can you seal a new drive straight away?
Block paving is best left a few months to settle, then cleaned and sealed.
